NOVELTY - A device (500) for synthesis of graphene (506) comprises container (516) having a space for holding carbon source (505) and an entry opening (515) for receiving the carbon source material; greater than or equal to 2 electrodes (510) for applying electrical current through the space (520) for joule heating the carbon source, where the space for joule heating the carbon source is between the electrodes; and movement component (525) for moving carbon source, with respect to the container, into the entry opening in a 1st direction, and the greater than or equal to 2 electrodes apply the electrical current in a 2nd direction, where 1st direction is not the same as the 2nd direction. USE - A device for synthesis of graphene, preferably turbostratic graphene (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The device enables continuous carbon source/graphene flow and does not need to be disassembled to insert the carbon source or remove the graphene. The graphene does not get stuck to the graphite electrodes, and the device allows the use of a second set of electrodes for independent pre-treatment of the carbon source. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for synthesis of graphene which involves moving carbon source in a first direction into a space for joule heating the carbon source in a first direction; and applying an electrical current to the carbon source in a second direction with greater than or equal to 2 electrodes positioned to allow movement of the carbon source into the space for joule heating the carbon source.
