NOVELTY - The membrane electrode arrangement has an electrolyte membrane comprising a graphene oxide, and a pair of electrodes which are provided on a first surface and a second surface of the electrolyte membrane. The graphene oxide is functionalized with the phosphonic acid (PO3H2). An electrolyte membrane comprises a perfluorinated sulfonic acid ionomer (PFSA). USE - Membrane electrode arrangement for fuel cells. ADVANTAGE - The larger number of proton transfer channels are provided to maintain larger amount of moisture due to the particular flat structure and the large surface area of graphene oxide. The mechanical properties of the electrolyte membrane are improved. The electrolyte membrane with improved mechanical and dimensional stability is obtained. The excessive swelling of the electrolyte membrane can be prevented. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for producing a membrane electrode assembly for fuel cells.
