NOVELTY - Modified inorganic particle is claimed. The modified inorganic particle is obtained by modification of tannin-based aqueous derivatives of formula (I) and inorganic particles through π-π interaction. USE - The modified inorganic particle is useful in preparing epoxy resin (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The modified inorganic particle: has characteristics of regeneration and non-toxicity; improves the flexibility of epoxy resin; maintains epoxy strength, modulus, thermal properties and clarity. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Modified inorganic particle is claimed. The modified inorganic particle is obtained by modification of tannin-based aqueous derivative of formula (I) and inorganic particles through π-π interaction. INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for: Preparing modified inorganic particle comprising (i) mixing tannin and polypolyol glycidyl ether in a molar ratio of 1:25-125, adding catalyst, reacting at 80-120 ℃ for 2-8 hours, and removing unreacted polypolyol glycidyl ether to obtain tannin-based aqueous epoxy resin, where addition amount of catalyst is 0.5-4% of the total mass of tannin and polypolyol glycidyl ether, or mixing tannin and polypolyol glycidyl ether in a molar ratio of 1:25-125, adding water and catalyst, reacting at 80-100 ℃ for 6-48 hours, and removing unreacted polypolyol glycidyl ether to obtain tannin-based waterborne epoxy resin, where addition amount of catalyst is 0.5-4% of the total mass of tannin and polypolyol glycidyl ether, and addition amount of water is 1-3 times the total mass, (ii) mixing tannin-based aqueous epoxy resin and inorganic particle in a mass ratio of 0.5-5:1, adding water and ultrasonicating for 0.5-2 hours, and filtering to obtain tannin-based aqueous epoxy modified nanoparticle, and (iii) ultrasonically dispersing tannin-based aqueous epoxy-modified nanoparticle in water, adding epoxy ring-opener (2-10 times the mass of tannin-based aqueous epoxy-modified nanoparticle), reacting at 80-100 ℃ for 2-4 hours, and filtering to obtain tannin-based aqueous polyether polyol modified inorganic particle; and Use of modified inorganic particle in preparing epoxy resin comprising ultrasonically dispersing the modified inorganic particle in liquid epoxy curing agent, then blending and curing with epoxy resin to prepare modified inorganic particle epoxy resin material, where mass ratio of the modified inorganic particle in the blend system is ≤ 0.015%.
