NOVELTY - Preparation of 2, 5-furan dicarboxylic acid involves reacting 5-hydroxymethyl furfural with oxygen in mixed solvent composed of organic solvent and water in presence of oxidation catalyst. The oxidation catalyst is a supported metal catalyst containing a carrier and a metal loaded on the carrier. The metal is one or more of ruthenium or ruthenium and platinum, and palladium or gold. USE - Preparation of 2, 5-furan dicarboxylic acid. ADVANTAGE - The method is green and simple, and has high yield, uses a mixed solvent composed of water and organic solvent, which avoids the introduction of basic compounds in existing method and complicated processes such as acidification treatment, and uses a ruthenium-based catalyst supported by carbon-containing carrier with high specific surface area as oxidation catalyst, and catalyst preparation method is simple and inexpensive.
