NOVELTY - Electrode comprises a base and a coating deposited on the base. The base comprises nanostructures made of a metal and reduced graphene oxide, and the coating comprises pseudo-capacitor material. USE - The electrode is useful in electrochemical capacitor (claimed) used as energy storage and power supply devices in i.e. microelectronic industry. ADVANTAGE - The newly developed electrode material enables to build electrochemical capacitors achieving both high power density and energy density. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for: (1) fabrication of an electrode, which involves assembling a metal compound and graphene oxide to nanostructures , subjecting the nanostructures to reductive conditions to convert a metal ion in the metal compound into elemental form and the graphene oxide into reduced graphene oxide, recovering a film composed of a bundle of elemental metal nanostructures and reduced graphene oxide, and depositing pseudo-capacitor material onto the surface of the film; and (2) an electrochemical capacitor comprising a pair of spaced apart electrodes, a separator between the electrodes and an electrolyte disposed in the space between the electrodes, where the electrode is the electrodes above.
