NOVELTY - Preparing bismuth/graphene composite visible light catalyst, comprises: (a) dissolving bismuth chloride in a concentrated hydrochloric acid, and adding water and continuously stirring for 60 minutes and drying to obtain pure white bismuth oxychloride; (b) adding graphene oxide to water, ultrasonically dispersing, adding bismuth oxychloride, stirring for 2 hours, adding hydrazine hydrate and heating in a water bath to form a uniform bismuth/graphene composite; and (c) cooling the bismuth/graphene composite, filtering, washing, and drying at 60 degrees C for 8 hours. USE - The process is useful for preparing bismuth/graphene composite visible light catalyst (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The process produces bismuth/graphene composite catalyst with improved catalytic activity in visible light and stability, in environmentally friendly manner. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparing bismuth/graphene composite visible light catalyst, comprises: (a) dissolving 0.73 g of bismuth chloride in 50 ml of concentrated hydrochloric acid, and adding 100 ml of water and continuously stirring for 60 minutes, filtering, washing with water and ethanol and drying to obtain pure white bismuth oxychloride; (b) adding 10-60 mg/l of graphene oxide to 100 ml of water, ultrasonically dispersing, adding 0.2 g of bismuth oxychloride, stirring for 2 hours, adding 1 ml of hydrazine hydrate, stirring and heating in a water bath at 80 degrees C to form a uniform bismuth/graphene composite; and (c) cooling the bismuth/graphene composite, filtering, washing thrice with water and ethanol, and drying at 60 degrees C for 8 hours.
