NOVELTY - The modulator has a base layer formed on a ridge-shaped light waveguide layer, first bracket and second bracket. First graphene layer and second graphene layer are formed on the ridge-shaped light waveguide layer. The first graphene layer is formed on an upper surface of the first bracket and first electrode. The second graphene layer is formed on an upper surface of the second bracket and second electrode. USE - Graphite alkene chalcogenide glass planar waveguide near and medium infrared light modulator. ADVANTAGE - The modulator improves signal modulating and demodulating efficiency of a photonic device.
