▎ 摘  要

NOVELTY - An electric contact (100) for repeatedly closing and opening a conducting path by breaking and connecting an electrical circuit, comprises metal-graphene composite layer (104b, 104c) in which 0.05-3 wt.% functionalized graphene is dispersed in a matrix of the metal. USE - An electric contact i.e. low voltage switchgear or medium voltage vacuum breaker, for repeatedly closing and opening a conducting path by breaking and connecting an electrical circuit (claimed). Electric contact is also selected from low voltage contactors, low voltage circuit breakers, low voltage switch disconnectors, and manual motor starters. ADVANTAGE - The metal-graphene composite material or layer has improved properties for an arcing contact of an electrical power switch. It has unusually good properties, especially as arcing. Improved dispersing of graphene oxide (GO) in the metal matrix reduces the amount of GO needed and limits the effect of the GO on the electrical properties. Ethanol is readily available, relatively economical, and an adequate solvent. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for production of metal-graphene composite layer for an electric contact which involves suspending flakes of functionalized graphene, such as e.g. graphene oxide, in a solvent to obtain a graphene-solvent suspension, where the flakes have an average longest axis of 50-100 mu m; suspending metal nanoparticles in a solvent to obtain a metal-solvent suspension, where the metal is silver, copper, gold, and/or nickel; mixing the metal-solvent suspension and the graphene-solvent suspension with each other; and evaporating the solvent from the mixture to obtain a metal-graphene composite powder having a functionalized graphene content of 0.05-3 wt.%.
