NOVELTY - Preparation of polyvinyl alcohol-aminosilylated graphene macroporous composite spheres involves adding 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane to deionized water, heating to 40-80 degrees C for 4-8 hours, adding oxidized graphene dispersion, stirring for 4-24 hours, washing the precipitate, centrifuging, drying to obtain an aminosilylated graphene oxide solid, adding polyvinyl alcohol, sodium alginate and calcium carbonate, adding resulting gel to calcium chloride, adding saturated boric acid solution, stirring, adding hydrochloric acid solution, and washing with water. USE - Preparation of polyvinyl alcohol-aminosilylated graphene macroporous composite spheres for heavy metal ion adsorption and separation in sewage (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The polyvinyl alcohol-aminosilylated graphene macroporous composite spheres having desired water solubility and mass transfer properties and excellent mechanical strength are produced. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparation of polyvinyl alcohol-aminosilylated graphene macroporous composite spheres involves dispersing oxidized graphite in deionized water at room temperature, magnetically stirring to form oxidized graphite colloid suspension, ultrasonically processing for 2-6 hours, forming oxidized graphene dispersion having concentration of 0.5-10 mg/mL, adding 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane to deionized water under stirring in volume ratio of 1:10-100, heating to 40-80 degrees C for 4-8 hours, adding oxidized graphene dispersion, stirring for 4-24 hours to obtain flocculant precipitate, washing the precipitate with deionized water, centrifuging, drying in vacuum oven to obtain an aminosilylated graphene oxide solid, adding polyvinyl alcohol, sodium alginate and calcium carbonate in mass ratio of 10:1-5:10-20 to a reaction vessel containing deionized water, stirring at 90-95 degrees C, adding aminosilylated graphene oxide such that mass ratio of graphene oxide and polyvinyl alcohol is 1:4-30, stirring at 75-95 degrees C for 4-12 hours to obtain a gel, adding gel to calcium chloride, adding saturated boric acid solution, stirring for 12-48 hours, transferring resulting product to deionized water, adding hydrochloric acid solution, stirring to form a composite porous spheres, washing with water to produce polyvinyl alcohol-aminosilylated graphene macroporous composite spheres.
