NOVELTY - The method involves: (a) preparing densely arranged hexagonal nickel nanoparticles by utilizing nickel acetylacetonate, glucose, oleylamine and nitrogen though colloidal method; and (b) dispersing densely arranged hexagonal nickel nanoparticles and carbon carrier in organic solvent, ultrasonically processing for 1-4 hours, centrifuging, collecting and vacuum-drying to obtain mixture; and (c) placing mixture in hydrogen/nitrogen mixed reducing atmosphere or hydrogen/argon mixed reducing atmosphere, calcining for 0.5-2 hours at 251-599degrees Celsius to obtain densely arranged hexagonal/face-centered cubic nickel heterojunction. The carbon carrier is XC-72 carbon carrier, activated carbon, graphene, reduced graphene oxide, acetylene black or carbon nanotube. The organic solvent is ethanol, n-hexane, ethanol, trichloromethane and/or acetone. USE - Method for polycrystalline-phase nickel heterojunction electrocatalyst used in alkaline medium hydrogen oxidation reaction (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method provides polycrystalline-phase nickel heterojunction electrocatalyst with excellent hydroxide performance, high durability and carbon monoxide tolerance. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for: (1) preparation method of densely arranged hexagonal nickel; and (2) preparation method of face-centered cubic nickel.
