NOVELTY - Preparing energy methane gas catalyst comprises (i) preparing lanthanum-iron-cobalt oxide precursor (I), and (ii) sequentially adding the precursor, L-arginine, dopamine, and graphene oxide to deionized water, ultrasonic stirring for 30 minutes, adding ethylene glycol, placing the mixed liquid into a reaction kettle, placing it in a oven, hydrothermally synthesizing at 180-220degrees Celsius for 2-6 hours, filtering, drying at 80degrees Celsius, placing it in a tube furnace under nitrogen atmosphere and calcining at 500-900degrees Celsius for 1-2 hours to obtain modified lanthanum-iron-cobalt oxide catalyst. USE - The method is useful for preparing energy methane gas catalyst. ADVANTAGE - The modified catalyst: has enhanced active site exposure, and thus more efficiently catalyzes and degrades the methane. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparing energy methane gas catalyst comprises (i) preparing lanthanum-iron-cobalt oxide precursor of formula (LaFexCo1-xO3) (I), and (ii) sequentially adding the precursor, L-arginine, dopamine, and graphene oxide to deionized water, ultrasonic stirring for 30 minutes, adding ethylene glycol, placing the mixed liquid into a reaction kettle, placing it in a oven, hydrothermally synthesizing at 180-220degrees Celsius for 2-6 hours, filtering, drying at 80degrees Celsius, placing it in a tube furnace under nitrogen atmosphere and calcining at 500-900degrees Celsius for 1-2 hours to obtain modified lanthanum-iron-cobalt oxide catalyst. The precursor is prepared by (1) mixing and grinding lanthanum salt, iron salt and cobalt salt, adding it into deionized water, magnetically stirring for 30-60 minutes, adding gel material and continue to stir for 2 hours at room temperature, placing the reaction solution into a ceramic evaporating dish and placing it in an 800 W electric furnace to collect the powder product, and (2) placing the powder product in a tube furnace, heating to 400-500degrees Celsius at a heating rate of 2degrees Celsius/minute under a nitrogen atmosphere, and heat prevention treating it at this temperature for 2 hours, heating to 700-1000degrees Celsius at a heating rate of 1.5degrees Celsius/minute, and calcining for 2-5 hours to obtain (I). x = 0-1.
