▎ 摘 要
NOVELTY - A nano-scaled graphene plate (NGP) material comprises nanometer-scaled plate(s) comprising a sheet of graphite plane or several sheets of graphite plane. The graphite plane comprises a two-dimensional hexagonal lattice of carbon atoms. The plate has length and width parallel to graphite plane and thickness orthogonal to graphite plane. The length, width, and thickness values of the plate are smaller than 10 nm. USE - As reinforcement material in composite material (claimed) used as substitutes for carbon nanotubes or other types of nano rods used in field emission devices, hydrogen fuel storage, rechargeable battery electrodes, coating ingredients, and various scientific and engineering applications. ADVANTAGE - The NGP material can be readily incorporated in a matrix material and the NPG-reinforced composites exhibit desirable mechanical and physical properties. The strength or the failure strain of the composite is improved with concomitant increase in electrical and thermal conductivity. The NPG is economically produced in large quantities. The direct synthesis of NGP which was conventionally impossible, was made readily possible. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a composite material containing a matrix material and a predetermined proportion of nano-scaled graphene plate material as a reinforcement material. The length, width and thickness of the graphite plane are smaller than 100 nm. DESCRIPTION OF DRAWING(S) - The figure shows the configuration difference between a carbon nano-tube and a nano-scaled graphene plate.
