NOVELTY - A fuel cell catalyst comprises carrier comprising titanium suboxide and carbon, and an active material carried on the support and comprising iridium, ruthenium and yttrium. USE - Catalyst used in electrode for fuel cell (all claimed). Uses include but are not limited to polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell, direct methanol fuel cell, phosphoric acid fuel cell, molten carbonate fuel cell and solid oxide fuel cell as power source for cars and electronic devices. ADVANTAGE - The lightweight fuel cell catalyst has excellent durability, corrosion resistance, stability, oxygen evolution reaction activity, hydrogen oxidation activity, productivity, and prevents the catalyst from deteriorating by preventing the corrosion reaction of a carbon carrier occurs when there is a lack of fuel, and is environmentally-friendly and economical. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for manufacture of the fuel cell catalyst, which involves preparing mixture (M1) comprising titanium suboxide, carbon and solvent, preparing mixture (M2) by adding an iridium precursor, ruthenium precursor and yttrium precursor to the mixture (M2), and preparing an intermediate product using the mixture (M2).
