NOVELTY - Preparing copper/graphene catalyst involves preparing graphene oxide by an improved hummers method. The graphene oxide is added to N-methylpyrrolidone for ultrasonic dispersion, adjusted the pH with alkaline solution, added ascorbic acid and copper sulfate pentahydrate in order, and raised the temperature to a certain temperature. The reaction is kept for 2-3 hours. When the reaction is complete, added water after cooling, leave to remove the upper layer, and used distilled water. The anhydrous ethanol is washed and centrifuged three times, and the precipitate is collected by centrifugation and dried under vacuum to obtain a black copper/graphene solid. USE - Method for preparing copper/graphene catalyst is used to applied to water treatment, preferably the water treatment is a water treatment containing a nitroaromatic compound (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method enables to prepare copper/graphene catalyst, that can realize the controlled growth of copper nanoparticles, and can stably disperse on the surface of graphene, hence generating good catalytic performance, and catalyst synthesis process is simple, economical, environmentally friendly and safe, and suitable for large-scale industrial production.
