NOVELTY - Preparation of graphene fiber involves (i) ultrasonically dispersing oxidized graphene in deionized water to obtain aqueous solution of uniformly dispersed graphene oxide, (ii) mixing uniformly dispersed aqueous solution of graphene oxide with chloroacetic acid, heating under stirring condition, maintaining for 0.5-3 hours, then cooling to room temperature and filtering, drying to obtain carboxylated graphene oxide, (iii) dispersing carboxylated graphene in N,N-dimethylformamide to obtain a spinning dope, carrying out wet spinning to prepare graphene fiber. USE - Preparation of graphene fiber for use in energy storage device, photovoltaic devices and sensors. ADVANTAGE - The graphene fiber is prepared by a simple method. The method is easy to industrialization. The prepared graphene fiber has excellent conductivity and high flexibility. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparation of graphene fiber involves (i) ultrasonically dispersing oxidized graphene in deionized water to obtain aqueous solution of uniformly dispersed graphene oxide, (ii) mixing uniformly dispersed aqueous solution of graphene oxide with chloroacetic acid, heating at 60-80 degrees C under stirring condition, maintaining for 0.5-3 hours, then cooling to room temperature and filtering with a filter, drying to obtain carboxylated graphene oxide, (iii) dispersing carboxylated graphene in N,N-dimethylformamide to obtain a spinning dope, carrying out wet spinning to prepare graphene fibers having electrical conductivity of 2.0-2.2/asterisk104 S/m.
