NOVELTY - A resin process carbon material comprises greater than or equal to 1 of carbon material selected from carbon fibers, carbon nanotubes, graphite and graphene, and a resin that satisfies having (1) A-B block copolymer having polymer chain A and polymer chain B containing greater than or equal to 90 mass% methacrylate monomer unit, (2) polymer chain A has 1-22C alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl, cycloalkenyl, alkylcycloalkyl, arylalkyl, 1-22C alkoxy 2-3C alkylene, and 6-18C phenoxy alkylene, or poly(n=1-20) 2-18C hydroxyalkanoic acid and containing greater than or equal to 80 mass% 2-18C methacrylate-based monomer unit (a) having amine value of 0 mgKOH/g, number-average molecular weight of polystyrene conversion measured by gel permeation chromatograph of 3000-20000 polymer block, (3) polymer chain B contains a methacrylate-based monomer unit (b) having a functional group with amine value of 0-200 mgKOH/g polymer block, and (4) content of methacrylate-based monomer unit (b) is 30-85 mass% based on whole resin (1). USE - A resin process carbon material used for carbon material composite composition (claimed). Can be used for plastic molding, coating material, ink, battery material, electronic component tray, integrated circuit chip cover, electromagnetic wave shield, automotive material and robot parts. ADVANTAGE - The treated carbon material is capable of easily preparing a carbon material composite composition such as a carbon material dispersion liquid excellent in dispersibility and redispersibility. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - A resin process carbon material comprises greater than or equal to 1 of carbon material selected from carbon fibers, carbon nanotubes, graphite and graphene, and a resin that satisfies having (1) A-B block copolymer having polymer chain A and polymer chain B containing greater than or equal to 90 mass% methacrylate monomer unit, (2) polymer chain A has 1-22C alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl, cycloalkenyl, alkylcycloalkyl, arylalkyl, 1-22C alkoxy 2-3C alkylene, and 6-18C phenoxy alkylene, or poly(n=1-20) 2-18C hydroxyalkanoic acid and containing greater than or equal to 80 mass% 2-18C methacrylate-based monomer unit (a) having amine value of 0 mgKOH/g, number-average molecular weight of polystyrene conversion measured by gel permeation chromatograph of 3000-20000 polymer block, (3) polymer chain B contains a methacrylate-based monomer unit (b) having a functional group of formula -(N+(R1)(R3)-R2 X1-S(=O)2-N--S(=O)2-X2) (1) with amine value of 0-200 mgKOH/g polymer block, and (4) content of methacrylate-based monomer unit (b) is 30-85 mass% based on whole resin (1). R1,R2,R3=1-18C alkyl, alkenyl or arylmethyl group; and X1,X2=1-8C alkyl fluoride. INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for: (1) producing the resin-treated carbon material which involves dispersing resin in an aqueous medium, manufacturing resin by dispersing the resin in the water-based medium, adding inorganic salt of formula M+ X1-S(=O)2-N--S(=O)2-X2 (3) and precipitating the resin in which polymer chain B contains a methacrylate-based monomer unit (c) having a functional group of formula -(N+(R1)(R3)-R2 X-) (2); and (2) carbon material composite composition comprising resin-treated carbon material and a dispersion medium where the dispersion medium is an organic solvent or thermoplastic resin, and the content of carbon material is 0.5-30 mass%. X=Cl or Br; and M=Li, Na, or K.
