NOVELTY - The method for preparing bismuth vanadate quantum dot, involves reacting anionic surfactant, bismuth salt and metavanadate to obtain bismuth vanadate precursor, centrifuging, washing with organic solvent and drying to obtain final product. The molar ratio of anionic surfactant, bismuth salt and metavanadate is preferably 1-5:0.5-1.5:0.5-1.5, more preferably 3:1:1. USE - Method for preparing bismuth vanadate quantum dot for preparing reduced graphene oxide aerogel material for use in photocatalyst (all claimed) used for photocatalytic degradation of organic compound. ADVANTAGE - The method enables economical preparation of bismuth vanadate quantum dot with large specific surface area and high activity. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for preparation of reduced graphene oxide aerogel material, which involves dispersing graphene oxide and bismuth vanadate quantum dots in a solution, carrying out hydrothermal reaction and freeze-drying to obtain final product.
