NOVELTY - Preparing a superhydrophobic octyl graphene foam comprises using foamed nickel as a substrate, attaching octyl graphene to the surface of the foamed nickel, where the octyl graphene is obtained by reacting graphene oxide with octyl-triethoxysilane and then performing the reduction reaction. USE - The superhydrophobic octyl graphene foam is useful in medical analysis, food testing and sewage treatment and for adsorbing liquid organic matter in sewage treatment (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The octyl graphene foam enhances the interaction between the foamed nickel and the graphene, and improves the nano graphene having compatibility with the matrix, has more stable hydrophobic properties; and is a commercially viable high performance material. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for superhydrophobic octyl graphene foam, is produced as mentioned above.
