NOVELTY - A chemical adsorbent comprises manganese oxide and/or titanium oxide and doped metal element loaded on carrier. The doped metal element comprises palladium, platinum and/or rhodium, preferably palladium. The carrier is obtained by roasting mixture of coal slag, activated carbon, graphene and sodium hydroxide (NaOH) at weight ratio of 1.5-4:0.5-1:0.2-0.8:0.1-0.6.preferably 1.8-3:0.6-0.9:0.3-0.5:0.1-0.4, 1.5-3:1:0.3-0.5:0.1-0.5 or 2-2.5:0.5-1:0.4-0.5:0.1-0.2 in high-temperature inert gas atmosphere. USE - Chemical adsorbent used for purifying co-oxidation co-produced tert-butyl alcohol (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The chemical adsorbent has high reaction adsorption efficiency with simple operation and low energy consumption, thus providing tert-butyl alcohol having purity of more than 95 %, preferably 96.5-98.0 %. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for: (1) preparation of chemical adsorbent comprising mixing coal slag, activated carbon, graphene and NaOH and roasting in inert gas atmosphere to obtain carbon slag-based activated carbon carrier; mixing palladium, platinum and/or rhodium salts, manganese salts and/or titanium salts, and reducing agents at weight ratio of 1:6-20:0.5-40, preferably 1:8-15:1-20, and impregnating with the carrier; and drying and calcining; (2) use of chemical adsorbent in purifying co-oxidation co-produced tert-butyl alcohol; and (3) purification of crude tert-butyl alcohol comprising filling fixed bed reactor with chemical adsorbent, and flowing with co-oxidation co-produced tert-butyl alcohol.
