NOVELTY - A zinc oxide nanoparticle/reduced graphene oxide nanocomposite photocatalyst comprises a reduced/oxidized graphene and zinc oxide nanoparticles attached on the reduced/oxidized graphene. USE - Zinc oxide nanoparticle/reduced graphene oxide nanocomposite photocatalyst is used for treating water. ADVANTAGE - The zinc oxide nanoparticle/reduced graphene oxide nanocomposite photocatalyst has excellent reusability and high dye removal efficiency. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for manufacture of zinc oxide nanoparticle/reduced graphene oxide nanocomposite photocatalyst, which involves adding a zinc precursor to the oxidized graphene suspension and stirring, preparing an agitated material (a1), drying the precipitate (b1) obtained by centrifuging the material (a1), heat-treating the precipitate (b1), preparing reduced graphene oxide nanocomposite in which zinc oxide seeds are attached, adding the nanocomposite to anhydrous ethanol for growing the zinc oxide seeds, adding the zinc precursor and a reducing agent to a solvent in which the nanocomposite is added and stirring for preparing an agitated material (a2), heat-treating the material (a2), cooling and centrifuging for obtaining a precipitate (b2), and washing and drying the precipitate (b2).
