NOVELTY - Printing and dyeing waste water adsorbent comprises cyclodextrin functionalized graphene nano material. USE - The adsorbent is useful for processing the printing and dyeing waste water, and also for treatment of aromatic organic chemical waste water. ADVANTAGE - The adsorbent is economical and process is simple; has removal rate of more than 96%; has easily available raw materials. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for preparing printing and dyeing waste water adsorbent, comprising (i) processing the graphite powder using strong acid and strong oxidant to obtain the graphene oxide, (ii) adding the graphene oxide obtained in step (i) into the aqueous solution (0.25-2 mg/ml), stripping by ultrasonic wave for 30-90 minutes to obtain the brown graphene oxide solution, (iii) preparing beta -cyclodextrin (1-10 mg/ml) by mixing the graphene oxide solution and the beta -cyclodextrin aqueous solution in a ratio of 1:4-8, stirring and adding stronger ammonia water and adjusting pH to 10-11, then adding hydrazine hydrate, where the mass ratio of graphene oxide:hydrazine hydrate is 900-700:1, heating up and reacting for 1-3.5 hours at 60-90 degrees C to obtain the uniform and stable cyclodextrin functionalized graphene.
