NOVELTY - A carbon nitride graphene-precious metal composite nano catalyst comprises a carbon nitride graphene carrier and catalytically active precious metal nanoparticles attached to a surface of the carrier. The precious metal nanoparticles are uniformly distributed on the surface of the carrier by coordinating with nitrogen atoms in the carrier. USE - Carbon nitride graphene-precious metal composite nano catalyst is used in e.g. fuel cell and metal air battery (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The catalyst has high activity, thermal stability and mechanical strength. The battery manufactured using the catalyst has excellent performance and improved service life. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for preparation of the catalyst, which involves placing the carbon nitride (C2N) graphene in a solvent and subjecting to ultrasonic processing to obtain a C2N graphene dispersion, adding a noble metal precursor to the dispersion to obtain a mixed dispersion in an inert atmosphere, heating the mixed dispersion at 60-200 degrees C and adding a reducing agent, and centrifuging resulting mixture for 1-24 hours, washing and drying.
