NOVELTY - A cathode comprises a current collector, a cathode structure layer (A) comprising a framework material (I), and a cathode structure layer (B) comprising a framework material (II). The cathode structure layer (A) is arranged between the current collector and the cathode structure layer (B). The lithium-ion reduction potential of the framework material (I) is greater than that of the framework material (II) and the total thickness of the cathode is 0.1 microm-2 mm. The lithium ion reduction potential of the material (I) is -50 mV to 250 mV. The layer (A) has thickness of 0.1 microm-1 mm. USE - Cathode used in electrochemical device e.g. lithium-ion battery for electronic devices (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The cathode has improved space utilization rate when charging, improves multiplying power performance of the electrochemical device, inhibits the generation of lithium dendrite, reduces the volume variation, improves the safety performance and the cycle performance of the battery. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for an electrochemical device comprising the cathode, an anode and a separator.
