NOVELTY - Preparation of composite involves (a) charging a mixer with at least a solid elastomer, a wet filler comprising carbon black and at least 20 wt.% liquid with respect to total weight of the wet filler, and a linking agent, (b) mixing the solid elastomer, the wet filler, and the linking agent to form a mixture, and removing at least a portion of the liquid from the mixture by evaporation, and (c) discharging the composite comprising the filler dispersed in the elastomer at a loading of at least 20 phr, from the mixer. The composite comprises 10 wt.% or less liquid. The linking agent is chosen from compound comprising at least two functional groups comprising a functional group (g1) (I)-(III), and amine-containing structures of formulae (IV) and (V), and a functional group (g2) chosen from thiocarbonyl, nitrile oxide, nitrone, nitrile imine, thiol and compounds (VI)-(IX). USE - Preparation of composite used for preparing vulcanizate for article (all claimed). Uses include but are not limited to cap and base, undertread, innerliner, sidewall, wire skim, carcass, engine mounts, bushings, conveyor belts, windshield wipers, rubber components for aerospace and marine equipment, vehicle track elements, seals, liners, gaskets, wheels, bumpers, and anti-vibration systems. ADVANTAGE - The method enables preparation of the composite having excellent tire wear resistance, improved energy efficiency of tires, and provides vulcanized having improved property such as improved rubber property, improved hysteresis, wear resistance, rolling resistance, improved mechanical strength, tensile strength, improved tan ( delta ) value and improved tensile stress ratio. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparation of composite involves (a) charging a mixer with at least a solid elastomer, a wet filler comprising carbon black and at least 20 wt.% liquid with respect to total weight of the wet filler, and a linking agent, (b) mixing the solid elastomer, the wet filler, and the linking agent to form a mixture, and removing at least a portion of the liquid from the mixture by evaporation, and (c) discharging the composite comprising the filler dispersed in the elastomer at a loading of at least 20 phr, from the mixer. The composite comprises 10 wt.% or less liquid. The linking agent is chosen from compound comprising at least two functional groups comprising a functional group (g1) of formula: -N(R1)(R2) (I), -N(R1)(R2)(R3)+A- (II), -S-SO3M1 (III), and structures of formulae (IV) and (V), and a functional group (g2) chosen from thiocarbonyl, nitrile oxide, nitrone, nitrile imine, thiol and compounds having groups of formulae: -S-SO3M2 (VI), -Sx-R6 (VII), thiol, -C(R6)=C(R7)-C(O)R8'-C(R6)=C(R7)-CO2R8 (VIII), and -C(R6)=C(R7)-CO2M2 (IX). A' = chloro, bromo, iodo, hydroxy, nitrate or acetate; X = NH, O, or S; Y' = H, OR4, NR4R5, or -SnR4; n = 1-6; R1-R8 = H, or 1-8C alkyl; M1,M2 = H, Na+, K+, Li+, N(R')4+; R' = H or 1-20C alkyl;and x = 1-8. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for production of vulcanizate, which involves curing the composite in the presence of at least one curing agent.
