NOVELTY - Preparation of graphene oxide involves adding sulfuric acid to flask, adding potassium persulfate and phosphorus pentoxide, heating, stirring, cooling, adding graphite powder, cooling, diluting, washing, drying, adding sulfuric acid, cooling, pre-oxidizing, stirring, adding potassium permanganate, stirring, reacting, dehydrating, adding deionized water, heating, adding deionized water and hydrogen peroxide, leaving still, washing using hydrochloric acid to neutral, drying, grinding, sealing, mixing resultant graphite oxide and water and ultrasonically processing. USE - Preparation of graphene oxide (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method enables preparation of graphene oxide having excellent stability. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparation of graphene oxide involves adding concentrated sulfuric acid to three-necked flask, adding potassium persulfate and phosphorus pentoxide, heating to 90-100 degrees C, stirring for 15-30 minutes, cooling to 80 degrees C, adding 2-5 pts. wt. graphite powder, stirring at 80 degrees C for 5 hours, cooling to room temperature, diluting using deionized water, leaving still for 12-24 hours, washing using distilled water, drying at room temperature for 24 hours, adding 20-25 pts. wt. concentrated sulfuric acid, cooling, pre-oxidizing, stirring, adding 10-20 pts. wt. potassium permanganate, stirring at 10 degrees C for 2 hours, reacting at 40-50 degrees C for 2 hours, dehydrating, adding 100-150 pts. wt. deionized water, heating at 100-105 degrees C for 30 minutes, adding deionized water and hydrogen peroxide, leaving still for 12-24 hours, washing using 3% hydrochloric acid to neutral, drying at 55-65 degrees C for 48 hours, grinding, sealing, mixing resultant graphite oxide and water and ultrasonically processing.
