▎ 摘 要
NOVELTY - Composite material comprises: an expanded porous membrane having a thickness, where the porous membrane has a microstructure of fibrils, and optionally nodes interconnecting the fibril, and a void volume providing pores; and a poly(ionic liquids) polymer (PIL), where the PILs forms a coating on the nodes and fibril of the expanded membrane. The PIL fills the entirety of the void volume of the membrane, and fills at least a portion of the volume. The material further comprises at least one active agent. The active agent is covalently or non-covalently bound to PIL. The expanded porous membrane comprises at least one of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE), tetrafluoroethylene copolymers, polylactic acid, polyparaxylylene, polyvinylidene difluoride, vinylidene difluoride copolymers, or poly(ethylene tetrafluoroethylene), preferably expanded PTFE or expanded UHMWPE. USE - The material is useful: in laminates; in articles; for separating a gas from a mixture (all claimed); and in electrochemical devices, separation applications and reaction solvents. ADVANTAGE - The material: has a porosity from 20-99%, preferably less than 20%; has a carbon dioxide absorption capacity of 0.3-1 .2 mmol carbon dioxide/g PILs; has a carbon dioxide permeability of more than 1 barrer; has a nitrogen permeability of less than 1.5 barrer; has a selectivity calculated as carbon dioxide permeability nitrogen permeability of greater than 8; has excellent carbon dioxide absorption and separation properties, without compromising existing mechanical, chemical, and thermal characteristics of traditional porous membranes, sheets or films; and exhibits superior performance properties including high carbon dioxide absorption, permeability and carbon dioxide/nitrogen selectivity in combination with desirable mechanical properties e.g. thin, strong, moisture and temperature resistant, and having flexibility, strength, and durability. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for: laminate comprising the composite material; article comprising the composite material; eparating (M1) a gas from a mixture; and forming (M2) the composite material.
