NOVELTY - An aqueous carbon material dispersion liquid comprises a carbon material, water and a polymer dispersing agent. The polymer dispersing agent is polymer containing 5-40 %mass structural unit derived from a monomer, which is a quaternary ammonium salt of at least 1 basic monomer selected from 2-vinylpyridine, a 4-vinylpyridine, and 1-vinylimidazole, 50-80 %mass structural unit derived from an alkylene group-containing monomer (I), and 0.5-40 %mass structural unit derived from other copolymerizable monomer. The polymer has number average molecular weight of 5000-20000. USE - Aqueous carbon material dispersion liquid. Uses include but are not limited to film, aqueous ink, plastic molding, battery material, electronic component tray, cover for IC chips, electromagnetic wave shield, motor vehicle component, components for robots, etc. ADVANTAGE - The aqueous carbon material dispersion liquid has excellent dispersibility, storage stability, viscosity characteristics and workability, and enables formation of film having high transparency, electroconductivity and thermal conductivity.
