NOVELTY - Preparing protein oxidation graphene hydrogel involves mixing 70 mL of 98 wt.% concentrated sulfuric acid and 5 ml of 25 wt.% nitric acid solution in the room temperature, stirring and slowly adding 3.0g graphite powder, 1.5g sodium nitrate and 1.1g sodium bisulfate, putting the mixture to ice bath for cooling, slowly adding 9.0g potassium permanganate and 1g potassium nitrate under vigorous stirring, transferring the reaction system to water bath at 40 degrees C after charging is finished, stirring at constant temperature, reacting for 30 minutes, slowly adding 150 mL of de-ionized water, and heating the water bath to 90 degrees C, reacting for 15 minutes, then adding 500mL water, and slowly adding 15mL of 30 wt.% hydrogen peroxide solution. The obtained mixture is then filtered and washed with 250mL of 3.5 wt.% diluted hydrochloric acid to remove metal ion, then 200mL deionized water is used to wash and to remove the residual acid.
