NOVELTY - Mesoporous metal catalyst comprises graphene support for supporting metal nanoparticles comprising a reduced graphene oxide layer and pyrene functionalized ionic block copolymer (I) coated on the surface of the reduced graphene oxide layer, and a porous two-dimensional planar structure having average diameter pores of less than 5 nm between the interconnected transition metal nanoparticles, which is supported on the graphene support. USE - Used as mesoporous metal catalyst. ADVANTAGE - The mesoporous metal catalyst has improved durability. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Mesoporous metal catalyst comprises graphene support for supporting metal nanoparticles comprising a reduced graphene oxide layer and pyrene functionalized ionic block copolymer of formula (I) coated on the surface of the reduced graphene oxide layer, and a porous two-dimensional planar structure having average diameter pores of less than 5 nm between the interconnected transition metal nanoparticles, which is supported on the graphene support. R1 = halo, preferably Br, Cl or I; m = 10-100; n = 50-500; and x, y = greater than or equal to 1. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for producing mesoporous metal catalyst, comprising dispersing graphene support for supporting metal nanoparticles comprising a reduced graphene oxide layer and (I) coated on the surface of the reduced graphene oxide layer in a solvent to form a support solution and supplying structure inducing agent and metal nano-precursor solution in the support solution and reacting to form porous two-dimensional planar structure.
