NOVELTY - Producing sulfide solid electrolyte comprises preparing lithium sulfide (Li2S), diphosphorus pentasulfide (P2S5), and LiX and M, where, X = halogen, M = metal/metalloid halogen or organometallic compound, where mixture comprises Li2S, P2S5 and LiX and M in a molar ratio of 3-12:0.5-4.0: 0-1, dissolving and dispersing the components in a pyridine solvent, removing the pyridine solvent, and sintering at 100-550° C at a heating rate of 2° C/minutes for 2-10 hours, where metalloid is Li2S-P2S5 or Li2S-P2S5-LiX or metal/metalloid doped/mixed Li2S-P2S5 or metal/metalloid doped/mixed Li2S-P2S5-LiX or P2S5 excess Li2S-P2S5 or P2S5 excess Li2S-P2S5-LiX or metal/metalloid doped/mixed P2S5 excess Li2S-P2S5 or metal/metalloid doped/mixed P2S5 excess Li2S-P2S5-LiX. USE - The sulfide solid electrolyte is useful for all-solid-state batteries (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The solid electrolyte improves ionic conductivity and electrochemical performance by disturbing the crystal structure of the solid electrolyte and widening the lithium-ion transport pathway. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for: battery containing sulfide solid electrolyte, comprising cathode, anode, and Li2S-P2S5 or Li2S-P2S5-LiX or metal/metalloid doped/mixed Li2S-P2S5 or metal/metalloid doped/mixed Li2S-P2S5-LiX or P2S5 excess Li2S-P2S5 or P2S5 excess Li2S-P2S5-LiX or metal/metalloid doped/mixed P2S5 excess Li2S-P2S5 or metal/metalloid doped/mixed P2S5 excess Li2S-P2S5-LiX; and cathode composites for all-solid-state batteries, comprising cathode material, the sulfide solid electrolyte and active carbon, Super-P, reduced graphene oxide, carbon nanotubes, and carbon black.
