▎ 摘 要
NOVELTY - Method for the manufacturing reduced graphene oxide from graphite electrode scrap, involves (a) providing the graphite electrode scrap, (b) grinding the electrode graphite scrap to obtain grinded graphite electrode, (c) oxidizing the grinded graphite electrode to obtain graphene oxide, and (d) reducing graphene oxide into reduced graphene oxide. The oxidation step involves (i) preparing a mixture comprising the grinded graphite electrode, an acid and a nitrate salt, where the mixture is kept at a temperature below 5 degrees C, (ii) adding an oxidizing agent into the mixture obtained in step (i) to obtain graphite oxide, (iii) after reaching the targeted level of oxidation, adding a chemical element to stop the oxidation reaction, (iv) separating graphite oxide from the mixture obtained in step (iii), and (v) exfoliating graphite oxide into graphene oxide. USE - The method is used for manufacturing reduced graphene oxide from graphite electrode scrap, where the reduced graphene oxide is used as cooling reagent and in a cooling fluid, preferably water, ethylene glycol, ethanol, oil, methanol, silicone, propylene glycol, alkylated aromatics, liquid gallium, liquid indium, liquid tin, and potassium formate to cool down a metallic substrate, preferably aluminum, stainless steel, copper, iron, copper alloys, titanium, cobalt, metal composite, and nickel. ADVANTAGE - The method produces reduced graphene oxide with increased productivity and excellent quality within a short time in an environmentally-friendly manner. The reduced graphene oxide improves the corrosion resistance of the metallic substrate.
