NOVELTY - Preparing a supported nano metal catalyst, comprises (i) mixing graphene oxide, an aqueous solution containing metal ions and a reducing agent, adjusting the pH to 10-12, and heating to perform a hydrothermal reaction to obtain a catalyst precursor, where the metal ions include copper ions, cobalt ions and doped metal ions and the doped metal ion is a trivalent metal ion, and (ii) heating and calcining the catalyst precursor to obtain a supported nano-metal catalyst. USE - The method for preparing supported nano-metal catalyst useful for preparing lower alcohols from synthesis gas (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method improves the dispersion of the active center, stability of the catalyst, and product selectivity of the supported nano-metal catalyst. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for a supported nano metal catalyst, comprising a carrier and nano metal particles supported on the carrier, where the carrier is reduced graphene oxide, the nano metal particles include copper, cobalt and doped metals and the doping metal is a metal element whose valence can be trivalent.
