NOVELTY - The separator (10) has a functional layer (120) covered on a surface of a first surface and a second surface. Graphene oxide composite layers are alternatively overlapped with carbon nanotube layers, where each of the graphene oxide composite layers comprises a set of graphene oxide sheets overlapped with each other and a set of manganese dioxide nanoparticles that is located on the set of graphene oxide sheets and embedded in an interlayer formed by the carbon nanotube layer and the set of graphene oxide sheets. The carbon nanotube layers are directly contact with separator substrate (110). USE - Separator for a lithium-sulfur battery (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The separator provides a battery separator to exhibit superior performance to confine polysulfides diffusion, avoids shuttle effect between a cathode and an anode, and enhances an electrochemical reactivity of the lithium-sulfur battery with the lithium-sulfur battery separator, and provides carbon nanotubes comprising excellent mechanical properties, conductivity, and large aspect ratio, thus improving an energy density of the lithium-sulfur battery.
