NOVELTY - Positive electrode comprises a positive electrode current collector and a positive electrode mixture layer formed on at least one surface of the positive electrode current collector and containing a positive electrode active material and a positive electrode additive (I), where the cross-sectional structure of the positive electrode composite material layer after initial charging comprises a first region having a dense structure filled with first metal oxide particles, and a second region having an acicular crack structure inside and outside the second metal oxide particles. USE - The positive electrode is useful for lithium secondary battery. ADVANTAGE - The positive electrode secures the movement path of lithium ions and/or electrons, improves the effect of battery safety and electrical performance of the lithium secondary battery. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Positive electrode comprises a positive electrode current collector and a positive electrode mixture layer formed on at least one surface of the positive electrode current collector and containing a positive electrode active material and a positive electrode additive of formula: LipCo(1-q)M1qO4 (I), where the cross-sectional structure of the positive electrode composite material layer after initial charging comprises a first region having a dense structure filled with first metal oxide particles, and a second region having an acicular crack structure inside and outside the second metal oxide particles. M1=W, Cu, Fe, V, Cr, Ti, Zr, Zn, Al, In, Ta, Y, La, Sr, Ga, Sc, Gd, Sm, Ca, Ce, Nb, Mg, B, and/or Mo; p=5-7;and q=0-0.5. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a lithium secondary battery comprising the positive electrode, negative electrode according, and a separator positioned between the positive electrode and negative electrode.
