NOVELTY - An advanced oxidation catalyst comprises layered graphitic carbon nitride-graphitic carbon nitride/zinc oxide which is assembled from layered graphitic carbon nitride-graphitic carbon nitride and flake zinc oxide. The graphitic carbon nitride-graphitic carbon nitride is composed of graphene at the edges of graphitic carbon nitride and graphitic carbon nitride. USE - The advanced oxidation catalyst is used in degrading water body organic pollutant, particularly bisphenol A, phenol, caffeine and/or organic dye and activating bisphenol A in water body by sulfate degradation (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The catalyst has high visible light photocatalytic characteristics, good degradation effect of organic pollutant in the visible light area, and simple preparation process. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for preparation of the catalyst comprising calcining the carbon nitrogen source; dissolving the zinc salt in alkaline solution and using precipitation-calcining method; and ultrasonically immersing.
