NOVELTY - Production of nanometric graphene sheet(s) functionalized with biomolecule(s) by electrochemical process involves using an electrochemical cell (1) comprising electrodes (2) and (3) at least partially immersed in an electrolysis bath (6) and connecting to a power supply unit (4), applying predetermined electric potential to the electrodes (2) and (3) by unit of supply unit and mainly covalently binding biomolecule(s) with graphite electrode which exfoliates producing graphene sheet(s) (7) functionalized with biomolecule(s). The electrode (2) is anode, which is of graphite. USE - Production of nanometric graphene sheet(s) functionalized with biomolecule(s) by electrochemical process used as de-acidifying and/or reducing agent for restoration of deteriorated paper supports such as books and manuscripts used in buckypaper (all claimed) e.g. sponge. ADVANTAGE - The method enables produces nanometric graphene sheet(s) functionalized with biomolecule(s) by electrochemical process having excellent restoration of paper supports, improved antimicrobial and antibacterial properties and is environmentally-friendly. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Production of nanometric graphene sheet(s) functionalized with biomolecule(s) by electrochemical process involves using an electrochemical cell comprising two electrodes (2) and (3) being at least partially immersed in an electrolysis bath and connecting to a power supply unit, applying predetermined electric potential to the electrodes (2) and (3) by unit of power supply unit and mainly covalently binding at least one biomolecule with graphite electrode which exfoliates producing at least one graphene sheet functionalized with at least one biomolecule. The electrode (2) is anode, which is of graphite. The ratio of diameter to height of cylindrical shape electrodes (2) and (3) is 1/100 plus minus 10%. The electrolysis bath comprises electrolytic solution and at least one biomolecule. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for buckypaper, which comprises a porous support and at least one graphene sheet.
