NOVELTY - Weather-resistant and heat-insulating PC/PMMA composites comprises 60-80 wt.% polycarbonate, 10-20 wt.% poly(methyl methacrylate), 1-5 wt.% composite toughening agent, 0.5-4 wt.% compound compatibilizer, 0.1-0.5 wt.% chain extender, 1-6 wt.% coupling agent, 0.1-0.3 wt.% antioxidant, 0.5-12 wt.% nano antimony doped tin dioxide, 5-20 wt.% thermal filler, 0.05-0.3 wt.% lubricant and 0.2-1 wt.% ultraviolet absorber. USE - Weather-resistant and heat-insulating polycarbonate (PC)/polymethyl acrylate (PMMA) composites used for buildings, automobile, electronic and electric field. ADVANTAGE - Weather-resistant and heat-insulating polycarbonate (PC)/polymethyl acrylate (PMMA) composite has good mechanical property, weather resistance and heat insulation property, has good light transmittance, and realize the functions of green safety, energy conservation and consumption reduction in many application fields. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for preparation method of weather-resistant and heat-insulating polycarbonate (PC)/polymethyl acrylate (PMMA) composite material, which involves: i. selecting the co-rotating twin-screw extruder, the screw diameter ratio is 1.55 or 1.66, and the screw ratio torque is 15 newton meter per cubic centimeter, so that the material and additives is optimally blending and extruding; ii. drying the PC raw material, drying time 3-7 hours, drying temperature: 110-130 degreesC, drying PMMA raw material, drying time 3-7 hours, drying temperature 70-90 degreesC, drying other reagents under vacuum at 45 degreesC for 8 hours; iii. setting extruder processing temperature: 210-270degreesC, temperature gradient in each section: 10degreesC, cooling water temperature: 30-50degreesC; and iv. adding PC, PMMA and additives to the high-mixer to mix evenly, adding the mixed materials to the twin-screw extruder, granules.
