▎ 摘 要

NOVELTY - Removal of brominated polybutadiene polystyrene copolymer from polystyrene waste involves (s1) combining polystyrene waste with second solvent chosen from benzenes substituted with one to four, optionally one or two, substituents chosen from 1-4C alkyl, with at least one being isopropyl, a solvent mixture comprising 45-95 wt.% first solvent or second solvent and 5-55 wt.% hydrocarbon polystyrene non-solvent, and their mixtures to obtain polystyrene/second solvent mixture and a solid comprising copolymer, and (s2) separating the solid comprising the copolymer and the polystyrene/second solvent mixture. The first solvent is chosen from benzenes substituted with one or two substituent each chosen from 1-2C alkyl and their mixtures. The hydrocarbon polystyrene non-solvent is 5-8C hydrocarbon. USE - Removal of brominated polybutadiene polystyrene copolymer from polystyrene waste. ADVANTAGE - None given. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: recycle of polystyrene waste which involves recycling comprising retention of brominated polybutadiene polystyrene copolymer or removal of copolymer. The retention of the copolymer involves (s1) dissolving polystyrene waste in first solvent being chosen from benzenes substituted with one or two substituents each chosen from 1-2C alkyl and their mixtures to obtain polystyrene/first solvent mixture, (s2) adding polystyrene/first solvent mixture to first portion of hydrocarbon polystyrene non-solvent at boiling point of hydrocarbon polystyrene non-solvent to obtain precipitated polystyrene and first portion of hydrocarbon waste solution, (s3) separating precipitated polystyrene from first portion of hydrocarbon waste solution, optionally repeating the dissolving, adding and separating processes, (s4) washing the precipitated polystyrene with second portion of hydrocarbon polystyrene non-solvent at the boiling point of hydrocarbon polystyrene non-solvent to obtain washed polystyrene and second portion of hydrocarbon waste solution, (s5) separating the washed polystyrene from the second portion of hydrocarbon waste solution, (s6) washing the washed polystyrene with a third portion of hydrocarbon polystyrene non-solvent at the boiling point of the hydrocarbon polystyrene non-solvent to obtain a twice washed polystyrene and a third portion of hydrocarbon waste solution, (s7) separating the twice washed polystyrene from the third portion of hydrocarbon waste solution, and (s8) optionally drying the twice washed polystyrene; recovery of carbonaceous additives from polystyrene waste involves (p1) dissolving the polystyrene waste in second solvent, a solvent mixture comprising 45-95 wt.% first solvent or second solvent and 5-55 wt.% hydrocarbon polystyrene non-solvent, and their mixtures to obtain polystyrene/second solvent mixture and solid comprising the carbonaceous additives, (p2) separating the polystyrene/second solvent mixture, (p3) washing the solid with first solvent to obtain carbonaceous additives and first solvent solution, and (p4) optionally drying the carbonaceous additives; use of second solvent for removal of brominated polybutadiene polystyrene copolymer; and use of brominated polybutadiene polystyrene copolymer and carbonaceous additive which are recovered from the removed copolymer in manufacture of polystyrene product, e.g. insulation applications.
