NOVELTY - Sheet molding compound (SMC) material comprises 35-60 wt.% first component and 100 wt.% second component, where the first component is glass fiber with the length of 10-60 mm, where the second component comprises 100 pts. wt. matrix resin, 2-5 pts. wt. graphene, 12-25 pts. wt. elastomer low shrinkage additive, 120-180 pts. wt. inorganic filler, 15-20 pts. wt. curing agent, 1-3 pts. wt. internal release agent, 2-30 pts. wt. mill base, 1-5 pts. wt. processing auxiliary agent and 1-8 pts. wt. thickening agent. USE - The material is useful in but are not limited to electric, electronic, vehicle, building, chemical industry, aviation and other industries. ADVANTAGE - The material: has enhanced strength, enhanced toughness, impact resistance and breaking capacity; increased amount of inorganic filler; saves production cost; enhances the overall performance so as to be suitable for multiple scenes; expands the application range; and is economical and easy to prepare. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for preparing the SMC material, comprising (i) taking first component, and using a cutter to cut the glass fiber to a corresponding length, taking each component in the second component, and drying the solid at 40-50°C for 3-5 minutes, (ii) dispersing the graphene in the second component in the organic solution, and ultrasonically dispersing to obtain the graphene premix liquid, (iii) adding matrix resin in the graphene premix liquid obtained in the step (ii), stirring for 10-20 minutes at the rotating speed of 1200-1500 rotations per minute (rpm) for mixing, adding elastomer low-shrinkage additive, curing agent, internal release agent, mill base and processing auxiliary agent and mixing for 5-10 minutes, then adding the inorganic filler and continuously stirring for 10-15 minutes, finally adding the thickening agent, adjusting stirring speed to 100-500 rpm, and stirring until the system temperature is less than 45°C to obtain a resin paste, (iv) uniformly coating one layer of resin paste obtained in the step (iii) on two polyethylene films respectively, uniformly dispersing the glass fiber prepared in the step (i) on the resin paste of one of the polyethylene films, coating at least one layer of resin paste on the surface of polyethylene film dispersed with glass fiber, then covering with another polyethylene film coated with resin paste, using a scraper to scrape the outer surface of the polyethylene film to discharge the air bubbles, and making the glass fiber completely immersed in the resin paste to make an SMC sheet, and (v) pressing the SMC sheet obtained in the step (iv) and rolling to obtain a sheet molding plastic, and then transferring into a drying room for curing process to obtain the finished product.
