NOVELTY - Preparing phosphorus-doped graphene comprises heating phosphorus source and organic salt or mixture of organic acid and salt in non-oxidizing atmosphere at 300-1600 degrees C to obtain mixture of phosphorus-doped graphene and metal oxide, and removing metal oxide from the mixture, where the phosphorus source is elemental phosphorus, phosphate, phosphate compound and/or phosphite compound. The organic acid is citric acid, gluconic acid, tartaric acid, D-pantothenic acid, threonic acid, 8-24C N-alkyl fatty acid and/or oleic acid. USE - The phosphorus-doped graphene is useful in lithium ion battery, supercapacitor, lead-acid battery, water treatment, electrocatalysis and photocatalysis fields. ADVANTAGE - The method is simple, has short period and realizes in-situ doping. The phosphorus-doped graphene has large surface area and is devoid from agglomeration. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparing phosphorus-doped graphene comprises heating phosphorus source and organic salt or mixture of organic acid and salt in non-oxidizing atmosphere at 300-1600 degrees C to obtain mixture of phosphorus-doped graphene and metal oxide, and removing metal oxide from the mixture, where the phosphorus source is elemental phosphorus, phosphate, phosphate compound and/or phosphite compound. The organic salt in citrate, gluconate, tartrate, D-pantothenate, threonate, 8-24C N-alkyl fatty acid salt and/or oleate of magnesium, calcium, strontium, barium, cobalt, nickel, manganese, iron, zinc, aluminum, indium or bismuth. The organic acid is citric acid, gluconic acid, tartaric acid, D-pantothenic acid, threonic acid, 8-24C N-alkyl fatty acid and/or oleic acid. The salt is acetate, nitrate, chloride, bromide and/or iodide of magnesium, calcium, strontium, barium, cobalt, nickel, manganese, iron, zinc, aluminum, indium or bismuth. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for phosphorus-doped graphene prepared by the above method.
