NOVELTY - An additive comprises modified cellulose ether, diethylene glycol, N-methylpyrrolidone, and 2-amino-2-methyl-1-propanol. USE - Additive used in composition used for preparing lithium ion battery anode slurry (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The additive enables the anode to maintain excellent performance index at thicker surface density, thereby improving the electrochemical performance of the battery cell. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) lithium ion battery anode slurry, which comprises solid component and solvent. The solid component comprises 0.02-0.03 wt.% additive, 95.0-98.5 wt.% solid active material, 0.5-2.0 wt.% conductive agent and 0.5-1.5 wt.% binder; and (2) preparation of the lithium ion battery anode slurry.
