NOVELTY - Preparing oxidation catalyst, comprises (i) impregnating carbon-containing material in an aqueous solution containing boron and performing the first calcination under inert gas to obtain a boron-doped carbon carrier; (ii) mixing boron-doped carbon carrier with an active metal component solution to obtain a first mixture; and (iii) performing first drying and first reduction on the first mixture. USE - The catalyst is useful for catalyzing the oxidation of 5 hydroxymethylfurfural. ADVANTAGE - The method can obtain the target product with high selectivity without the addition of alkali additives. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for: oxidation catalyst comprising boron-doped carbon support and 1-30 wt.% active metal component, where the specific surface area of the boron-doped carbon support is 200-2500 m/g, the boron-doped carbon support, comprises 0.01-5 wt.% boron and 3-15 wt.% oxygen; and2 preparing 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid, comprising (a) mixing 5-hydroxymethylfurfural aqueous solution with an organic solvent to obtain a mixed solution; and (b) adding an oxidation catalyst into the mixed solution, and performing an oxidation reaction in the presence of oxygen.
