NOVELTY - Beta-cyclodextrin and graphene oxide magnetic composite comprises magnetic substrate graphene oxide, and beta-cyclodextrin grafted ethylene diamine. USE - The beta-cyclodextrin and graphene oxide magnetic composite is useful for removing hexavalent chromium ion in hexavalent chromium-containing waste water (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The beta-cyclodextrin and graphene oxide magnetic composite has low cost, simple process, high adsorption performance and easy separation, and is environment-friendly. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are: (1) a method for preparing beta-cyclodextrin and graphene oxide magnetic composite comprising: (a) heating graphite at 1.0-5.0g, 1.0-5.0g Potassium persulfate (K2S2O8) at 1.0-5.0g, phosphorus pentoxide (P2O5) and 1-20 ml sulfuric acid (H2SO4) mixture in a water bath at 60-100 degrees C; (2) at room temperature, adding 0.002-0.01 mol iron (III) chloride (FeCl3) and iron sulfate (FeSO4) at 0.005-0.02mol for integration with 100-150 ml ultrapure water; (3) at room temperature, dissolving 10-500 mg beta-cyclodextrin in 10-500 ml water, adding ethylenediamine at 1-20 ml, at a temperature of 0-40 degrees C for 1-48 hours; and (4) adding 1-10 ml aqueous ammonia to 50-100 ml of the magnetic graphene oxide at room temperature for 1-50 minutes, then adding amino cyclodextrin; and (2) a method for using the beta-cyclodextrin and graphene oxide magnetic composite for removing hexavalent chromium ion comprising using the composite to hexavalent chromium-containing waste water to a concentration of 5-100 g/L.
