NOVELTY - The device (1) has a first portion (2) and a second portion (3) that are associated and moveable to each other. The first portion is provided with a first surface (21) facing the second portion. The second portion is provided with a second surface facing the first portion. Several protrusions (22) extend from the first portion or the second portion towards the second portion or the first portion. A heating source is associated to the first surface and/or the second surface and/or several protrusions. The protrusions are detachable from the first portion or the second portion. The first surface and/or the second surface comprise materials selected from a group consisting of metals, ceramics, gold, silver, copper, iron, aluminum, graphene system, mercury system, tungsten, zinc, bronze, and platinum. USE - Hair treatment device e.g. hair straightening device. ADVANTAGE - The volume and the apparent mass of hair on the head can be controlled or reduced to provide additional benefits of changing the appearance, shape or configuration of hair. Uniform and effective heat transferring to the hair can be obtained, so that hair treatments involving the application of hair cosmetic compositions containing active agents such as thermo-activable compounds can be enhanced. Bigger/larger swatches are treated without decreasing the performance of the treatment device.
