NOVELTY - Preparation of modified phenolic resin fibers involves adding a polymer to prepolymer of phenolic resin, obtaining a polymer-prepolymer solution, adding a graphene material to the polymer-prepolymer solution, polymerizing, obtaining a phenolic resin spinning solution, subjecting to electrospinning process, obtaining a phenolic fiber precursor, curing, and crosslinking. USE - Preparation of modified phenolic resin fibers used as reinforcing material, flame retardant material, thermal-insulating material, cushioning material, phenolic-based carbon fibers and electrode material for forming electrode composite material (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method enables simple preparation of modified phenolic resin fibers having excellent dispersibility, strength, electroconductivity and toughness. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for electrode composite material, which is obtained by carbonizing the modified phenolic resin fibers.
