NOVELTY - Manufacture of graphene pellets (14) involves forming nickel pellets (10) from nickel powder, exposing the nickel pellets to a hydrocarbon under conditions to grow graphene, and etching nickel using graphene with an acid resulting in a graphene pellet. The nickel powder functions as a catalyst for graphene growth. USE - Process of making graphene pellet used in electrode for energy storing device, sensors, batteries and supercapacitors (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method produces flexible graphene pellets exhibiting excellent mechanical strength, electroconducting properties, without requiring polymer reinforcement.
