NOVELTY - Hybrid electrode, comprises: a well-interconnected, non-woven sheet of carbon-nanotubes (CNTs), where the CNTs selected between single-walled, having a diameter of 1-20 nanometers and an aspect ratio is 50-5000, or multi-walled, having a diameter of 2-80 nanometers and an aspect ratio is 50-5000; and a layer of lithiated graphene nanoparticles deposited on the sheet of CNTs, the graphene nanoparticles being high defect single sheet of graphene having adsorbed lithium ions (I), and are processed to comprise reduced conducting graphene. USE - The electrode is useful for energy storage device (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The electrode: provides devices from simultaneously with improved both high power and high specific energy performance properties; and has low electrical resistivity, well-interconnected CNT sheet material with deposited high defect structure graphene nanoparticles provides battery with both high specific energy and pulse power capabilities.
