NOVELTY - A phase change material composition comprises 90-98 wt.% inorganic hydrated salt, 1-8 wt.% slow-release nucleating agent, 0.2-5 wt.% thickening agent and 0.2-3 wt.% corrosion inhibitor, that are mixed and stored or independently stored. The slow-release nucleating agent contains active ingredient, and hydrophilic aerogel wrapped on a surface of the active ingredient. The active ingredient is selected from at least one of disodium hydrogen phosphate dodecahydrate, sodium pyrophosphate decahydrate, sodium silicate, sodium borate decahydrate, sodium carbonate decahydrate, barium hydroxide hexahydrate, strontium chloride hexahydrate, borax, and magnesium chloride hexahydrate. The mass ratio of the hydrophilic aerogel and active ingredient in the slow-release nucleating agent is 1:(8-30). USE - Composition used for forming phase change material for use in electrical appliance and kitchen appliance (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The phase separation of phase change material formed using the composition is effectively inhibited. The phase change material has high enthalpy per unit mass and low degree of supercooling.
