NOVELTY - Antigen testing kit comprises a biosensor comprising at least one electrode conjugated to one or more aptamers configured to bind to one or more proteins produced by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS-CoV)-2. USE - The antigen testing kit is useful for detecting SARS-CoV-2. ADVANTAGE - The kit is cost-effective, easy to use and mass producible, provides a result in a short amount of time i.e. within 15 minutes without requiring highly trained healthcare personnel or expensive equipment and without the need for a sample preparation, avoids a healthcare worker needing to be in close proximity to a patient to take a sample, prevents the spread of SARS-CoV-2, quickly detects SARS-CoV-2 with highly sensitive even very low levels of viral load in e.g. asymptomatic patients, and reduces the need for reagents.
