NOVELTY - The preparation of graphene oxide improved activated carbon, involves washing raw activated carbon, drying and pulverizing to obtain activated carbon powder, adding to concentrated sulfuric acid, potassium persulfate and phosphorus pentoxide solution, where solution is prepared by reacting potassium persulfate, phosphorus pentoxide dissolved in sulfuric acid, diluting with deionized water, centrifuging, washing and drying to obtain pre-oxidized graphite, further oxidizing pre-oxidized graphite in concentrated sulfuric acid and potassium persulfate, diluting, and adding 30% hydrogen peroxide to obtain graphene oxide product, centrifuging and washing with hydrogen chloride and deionized water to remove impurity ions, and centrifuging to obtain graphene oxide solution, and (S3) soaking activated carbon in raw material pretreatment in graphene oxide aqueous solution, and adsorbing graphene oxide in solution, soaking, performing solid-liquid separation, and drying. USE - Preparation of graphene oxide improved activated carbon used for adsorption and removal of heavy metal ions in water environment (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method enables preparation of graphene oxide improved activated carbon ensuring improved adsorption speed and increased adsorption capacity of common heavy metal ions such as copper, chromium and cadmium in the solution. The method enables preparing graphene oxide improved activated carbon ensuring low preparation cost, using readily available raw materials, by simple operation ensuring high efficiency and stable operation effect. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - The preparation of graphene oxide improved activated carbon, involves (S1) washing raw activated carbon, drying, pulverizing and passing through 60-mesh sieve to obtain activated carbon powder with particle size smaller than 60-mesh, (S2) adding graphite powder with particle size of 60-200 mesh to concentrated sulfuric acid, potassium persulfate and phosphorus pentoxide solution, where the solution is prepared by reacting 2.5 g potassium persulfate, 2.5 g phosphorus pentoxide dissolved in 12 ml 98% sulfuric acid, stirring continuously at 75-85degreesC for 4-6 hours, diluting with deionized water, centrifuging, washing and drying to obtain pre-oxidized graphite, further oxidizing pre-oxidized graphite in concentrated sulfuric acid and potassium persulfate, diluting with deionized water, and adding 30% hydrogen peroxide to obtain graphene oxide product, centrifuging the product and washing with hydrogen chloride and deionized water at volume ratio of 1:(9-10) to remove impurity ions, and centrifuging at 3000-8000 rpm to obtain graphene oxide solution with oxidation degree of 20-40%, (S3) soaking activated carbon in raw material pretreatment in graphene oxide aqueous solution with concentration of 0.005-10 mg/mL, and adsorbing graphene oxide in solution by adsorption of activated carbon, and soaking for 0.2-2 hours, performing solid-liquid separation, quickly drying graphene oxide-adsorbed activated carbon in constant temperature environment of 30-70degreesC.
